Week of May 4th
This week we will be making some awesome rainsticks that we will use during our program. We will also be painting some suns with our handprints. This will tie into our Noah's Ark unit with the sun coming out to dry up the land. We are learning a song called "Mr. Sun" which the kids enjoy singing. We will use our "Tell me a story" pages to help us review our story.
Weather permitting we will do a Tiny Tot version of Spirit Walk on Monday. During our recess time, we will walk around the inside of the playground. I will use this time to also start assessments on motor skills. You are welcome to join us at 9:15 or 10:45.

Week of May 11th
This week I will work with the kids individually as I complete my end of the year assessments. These are informal, one-on-one games that I do with each child. I will give you these assessments along with the ones that I completed in January. Hopefully, they will give you an idea of how much your child has grown this year.
We will continue working on our Noah's Ark unit with our songs and stories. We are working on an awesome Tiny Tot adaptation of this wonderful Bible story that we will share with you on May 27th.
We have some visitors in our classroom. For the last couple of weeks, we have watched each of our caterpillars turn into a chrysalis. Now we are waiting the arrival of butterflies. We have had fun learning about the life cycle of the Painted Lady Butterfly and hope to one day soon let our little friends go.

Week of May 18th
This will be our last full week of school (if you can call two days a full week :0). On Monday, we will make some fun necklaces to give to our second graders who are celebrating on Thursday. The whole school will congratulate them on their spiritual growth as most of them received their First Communion and Confirmation earlier this year.
On Wednesday, weather permitting, we will meet at Lion's park at 10:00 for our Tiny Tot picnic. The kids will be able to play for an hour or so, we will eat lunch about 11:00 and then we will dismiss from the park at 11:30. Please have your child bring a sack lunch and drink. Family is welcome! There are no open bathrooms at the park so a trip to Hardee's or DQ will have to happen in case we need potties. If kids are returning to school for Extended Care, please let me know.
If the weather is rainy, we will have a movie and picnic in the classroom - same times. Bring blankets to get comfy.
